Seeking the Best of Two Worlds

EC Academic Program

The Early Childhood Program (Pre-School, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten)

Hayah Early Childhood educational program is a rich program that paves the way for lifelong learning. It aims at bringing up happy, confident, creative and informed young learners who are well prepared for the years ahead.

Hayah is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) and is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. The PYP is a transdisciplinary framework through which we deliver our curriculum. It focuses on the development of the whole child which aligns to our school’s mission and commitment to the social and emotional development of our students. In addition, it provides them with meaningful learning experiences that equip them for a fast changing world.

Our curriculum is aligned to the Common Core State Standards for Language Arts and Math (CCSS), the New Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and Aero Social Studies Standards. The Character Education curriculum in Hayah starts in Pre-Kindergarten and simplifies the necessary social skills required at this young age and supports the emotional development of students. Arabic in Early Childhood is taught from Pre-School. The program ensures students develop their cultural identity and the skills necessary in reading, writing, speaking and listening in their mother tongue, in addition to Religion and Quran. Physical Education, Drama, Music and Art are integrated into our program to foster students’ physical development, self-expression, individuality and creativity.

Teaching in all Early Childhood classes is center-based to cater for the different abilities and learning styles. It takes place in the well-resourced classes and indoor centers in addition to the outdoor learning area.
